Aadam and Brooke live near Washington, DC. Aadam enjoys cooking shows, video games, and convincing everyone that the Dark Side (Star Wars) is actually not the bad one. Brooke enjoys coffee, gadgets, and running, and mostly tolerates her husband’s strange sense of humor. When they aren’t working their day jobs, they love traveling and spending time with family.
In 2018, Aadam suffered a spinal cord injury that severely limited the use of his arms and legs (i.e he is an incomplete quadriplegic at C2-7). While Aadam spent 139 days in the hospital, re-learning the basics of daily living (like eating!), Brooke dove head first into the world of accessibility, working to figure out their new normal.
Together they’ve learned a lot along the way — from setting up an accessible home to traveling as a quadriplegic — and they want to use this blog to help others avoid feeling as lost as they did.
